Gesture Sketchdump 2 by Ric-M Gesture Sketchdump 2 by Ric-M

The second half.

They’re all jumbled up, but they are relatively recent from fall 2013 up to late December.

Again, drawn from artists.pixelovely.com/practic… as well as photo ref courtesy of Proko.com

That's a big study in poses.

Really nice work here, man. A gesture study's something I've been desperately needing to do, but the idea of nude or "incomplete" figures always seems to scare the crap out of my minor OCD. XP

You can always try clothed figures, that option is always available on most gesture drawing sites I've been to. Doesn't have to be people either, you could draw animals :3

gotta aggree with Ric on this one. You could be doing gesture studies of almost any object imaginable, so what you get out of it is entirely up to you. Some people do them merely as warmups to loosen up before doing longer drawings so they don't stiffen up, but from what I understand from artists, there is a longterm benefit from doing a lot these...I just don't quite what it is ^^;

Haha I'm being ganged up on! :noes:

But no, I get what you guys are saying, and I agree. I just don't have the artistic discipline to sit down and do one of these quite yet. ^^;

Same. I mean, i'm more of an "art fan" than actual artist but sometimes when i see things like these, it gives me that inspiration to actually try it out. But when I sit down with paper and pencil, I'm too intimidated:faint:
